Code of Conduct:

 

At Women in Film Chicago, respectful community and empowerment is at the heart of everything we do. As a member of this community, you agree to uphold the following principles to ensure a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all:

1. Respect for IndividualsTreat every member, guest, and participant with dignity and kindness. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and expect members to honor the lived experiences, identities, and perspectives of others.

 

2. Respectful CommunicationEngage in open, honest, and considerate dialogue. Listen actively. Avoid interrupting, talking over others, or using language that is discriminatory, harmful, or dismissive.

3. Professional ConductMaintain a spirit of collaboration and professionalism in all interactions—whether online, at events, or in informal settings. Constructive feedback is welcome; personal attacks are not.

 

4. Zero Tolerance for HarassmentHarassment of any kind—including but not limited to sexual, racial, verbal, or online harassment—will not be tolerated. Any behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment will be addressed promptly.

 

5. Respect for Boundaries and ConsentAlways seek and respect others’ boundaries, whether physical, conversational, or creative. Consent is essential in all collaborations.
